Noise began working with Molecular Medicine Ireland (MMI) in 2003 when they were known as the Dublin Molecular Medicine Centre (DMMC). As the organisation has grown so have their online requirements. In 2008, when the site redesign was in discussion we worked with MMI to develop a Content Management System that would allow them manage course applications, document transfer and delivery, as well as creating a secure environment where groups can collaborate.
We developed the new site from the ground up firstly taking all online and offline data and creating a new Database that could deal with old and new information. We then created the application that gave MMI staff the administrative access to the database and the ability to create new pages, sections, news and event items as well as course applications. The databse was designed by Keith Coughlan while the code for this site is developed in PHP using Code Igniter by Rob McKinney of Dobbler. The frontend design was created by Ian Smith.
The new MMI site since it's launch, has gone from strength to strength. The flexible platform chosen for development has since allowed a number of new sections to be added seamlessly using the existing system. Noise have a Service Level Agreement with the organisation to ensure the smooth running of the site and continue to work with MMI for future developments.
